Mayan Ruins
Mayan Ruins

Thousands of years

Blood, sweat and tears

A civilization extenct

But even today its ruins stay linked

As I stand at its base

I gaze in awe of this place

The power radiating from each stone

A heaviness chills me to the bone

How many rituals completed

How many life ends were greeted

Those offered to pay the highest price

The ultimate sacrifice

But that is not all that there is to this culture

Some much more to them and being considered a vulture

They left behind

Thriving art, architecture, math and language before they declined

So lets not only remember them as a society that was scary

But also as one who was luminary
